Devipuram

The Sri Chakra is one of the most sacred and potent representations for the entire spectrum of energies of the Mother Goddess in the Hindu Culture - energies that allow us to experience ourselves in every possible way. This temple in Devipuram is constructed in the exact form of a pyramidal Sri Chakra called Sri Meru. It is 108 square feet on ground, and rises majestically to a height of 54 feet. Such a big Sri Chakra does not exist anywhere else in the world as of today. The temple itself is the body of the Mother Goddess. All Her attending deities are surrounding Her life size, accessible to all for worship. Some of the Goddesses are totally nude inviting us to worship their nudity. There are two more places of importance to visit here; Kamakhya on the nearby hill slope and the Siva temple on top of hill. Kamakhya is the Mother of all; so it has the shape of a female genital. In its center is the Sri Chakra Meru, a symbol of the Universe. Underground water comes there. You can take the pure water (tested for purity) from it as prasad. Siva temple has a 12 foot Sri Chakra on its top. You should circumambulate it 5 times to fulfill your wishes. It presents with a breath taking view of the greenery all around, reflecting the serene beauty of Devi Valley
